Ah, the Leaky Deathship – or as it is more commonly referred to, The Gateway.
Both Adam and I are former contributors to the University of Alberta’s very own student newspaper; I was an avid contributor and delivered papers around campus for a year, Adam had the slightly less respected position of Editor-in-Chief. Now, many of you are probably aware of our past with this institution, but you may not be aware that many of our guests are also former Gatewayers.

As an added bonus, Edmonton uber-blogger Mack Male has also left his mark on the paper.
Now I’m not saying we’re playing favourites by booking former members of our exclusive newspaper club. We are however more inclined the book them. Because we like them.

Also, I had no IDEA I was presiding over the running of the newspaper when Mack wrote. I can’t believe it took me another 3 years to actually meet him!

Also, there was an edition of the Gateway printed sometime in early 2007 where yours truly was the quoted in both main front stories (including one of the headlines), questioned in the streeters section, and pictured twice.
We will henceforth refer to this phenomenon as the “Daveberta Hat Trick”.
So, can I just exploit my Gateway experience, or do I actually have to have something worth talking about in order to be on the show?
