[FML Friday]: Day of the Frige

Posted by Adam Rozenhart On April - 30 - 2010

Do you actually know the origin of the word “Friday”? It comes from the Old English meaning Day of the Frige. In common parlance, it means, “When is this friggin’ day over? I really could use several stiff drinks.”

Here at the Unknown Studio, it means “A day where we make fun of the ninnies and dorks who feel the need to document their failing at FmyLife.com.”

And rather than indulge that documentation, we give ‘em what for. Read the rest of this entry »

Empire Avenue

Posted by Scott C. Bourgeois On April - 30 - 2010

So Adam and some of our friends have been convincing me to join Empire Avenue and have my popularity gauged by the trading of “stock” based on my value.

As shattering as this will likely prove to be to my precious ego, I’ve decided to give it a shot.

Those of you in the know will understand what comes next:

So if you happen along Empire Avenue in the near future, be sure to buy some stock in your favourite local dudes.

Also look for The Unknown Studio to start trading it’s value on that site in the near future.

[FML Friday]: When your L is truly F’d

Posted by Adam Rozenhart On April - 23 - 2010

This is late. I’m a busy man. Eff Em Ell.

No, I’m kidding. I don’t want to Eff my Anything. The new jorb’s going well. The people are nice, my boss hasn’t tried to kill me (except with extreme hot and cold temperatures in my office — something he attributes to “the building” [where the building is obviously someone or someTHING that wants to kill me. FML]), and I have a sweet office, as I mentioned before.

And while all those things might delay me in posting this — those things and my own failure to recall that yesterday was Thursday — they are here for you know, in fabulous internet style.

Watch This: Scary Aliens

Posted by Scott C. Bourgeois On April - 21 - 2010

In this latest instalment of our ongoing Watch This feature — in which Adam and I give you a rundown on shows or movies you absolutely must see — we take a look at movies starring beings from beyond the boundaries of our little blue-green planet.

That’s right, we’re going back into outer space. But we’re not talking about cute and cuddly E.T.s and Stitches who just want to hug and be friends with us. Hell, we’re not even talking campy outer space denizens who come here with their “Yak-Yak” and their “Prepare to die, Earth-scum” and shoot us with laser guns.

No, today we’re talking about skin crawling, nightmare inducing wrongness.

We’re talking real aliens.

Episode the 22nd: The State of the Podcast

Posted by Adam Rozenhart On April - 19 - 2010

What do you get when your guest doesn’t show up, and the two people you randomly approach to be on the show to fill the empty slot aren’t available? A one-hour punchline, if this was the build-up to a joke.

But it’s not.

Fate conspired against us last weekend, but we persevered. And in what may be our least-listened-to podcast to day, we talk about… well, the Unknown Studio. We discussed some of the drama that’s recently cropped up around the show — nothing scandalous, mind you. Just worthy of note. Noteworthy, if you’re into the whole brevity thing.

We also talk plans for the future — but only very briefly so as not to give away all the fabulous surprises we have. And rather than end with a Fast 15, we end with a new random segment called “Ridiculous Questions that Have Little Bearing on Anything.”

Leave us a comment to beg us to ensure we have a guest for our next episode.

[FML Friday]: Cat power

Posted by Adam Rozenhart On April - 16 - 2010

Finally the week is at an end. It’s time to kick back, enjoy the sunshine, spend a few quatloos on some Romulan Ale… You know, really awesome stuff.

But before any of that happens, we need to look into the dismal lives of FML contributors. Anchors away! Read the rest of this entry »
