Not just because it includes a peek into the Unknown Studio mailbag (which it does); not just because it includes a story from the Christmas Bureau (which it does); and not just because it includes the inaugural Edmonton: A City segment, brought to you by Matt Hirji, Simon Yackulic, Sam Brooks and Jonn Kmech (which it absolutely does)…
But it also includes an interview with the founder of the Toonseum, Joe Wos. Scott and I had the opportunity to speak with Joe at Pure Speculation. We actually interviewed him before a live studio audience. We’d love to do a lot more of that.

Many of our regular listeners and readers will recall (you WILL recall, I demand it!) that we launched a contest at the end of August designed to bring new blood into the careening mass of weirdness we call The Podcast. We asked listeners to become contributors by pitching us segment ideas. Part of the reasoning was to provide a different persepctive and also to take some of the production pressure off of Scott and me. We love what we’re doing, of course, but it’s a lot of work. So if there were people out there who were interested, we thought we’d exploit them.

Have you ever sailed in a Happy Harbor? Scott and I have. We did so in this, our most recent episode, where we interview Jay Bardyla, proprietor and local giant at Happy Harbor Comics. They just relocated their downtown store to 107 Street and 104 Avenue. A lovely store that you should visit (they have couches, coffee and soda. Also, comics).
