Just a little tease

Posted by Lisa McRitchie On December - 2 - 2010

I barely knew you; our time together was so short. They told me to stay away from you. They told me you were no good, but I couldn’t resist. I knew there was something about you, your smell, and your glow. Just looking at you, I wanted to eat you up, right then and there. Sadly, I couldn’t. You were on a television commercial and I was sitting on my couch. Now, it’s been more than two weeks since you left my reach and I can’t help but wonder if you’ll ever return.

That’s right, the KFC double down was a limited time engagement. Read the rest of this entry »

When the zombie apocalypse comes…

Posted by Adam Rozenhart On November - 11 - 2010

If you’ve seen the movie Shawn of the Dead, you’ll know that Shawn and Ed’s plan when the zombie apocalypse came was to get all their pals together, head to their favourite pub — the Winchester — and hole up there until the cavalry came. Smart guys, Shawn and Ed. Drinks and weaponry: a solid strategy.

Well I can do them one better. Read the rest of this entry »

Remember, remember: donate for Movember!

Posted by Adam Rozenhart On November - 10 - 2010

Just when you thought that neither Scott C. Bourgeois nor myself could look any creepier or more lecherous than we already do, that famous mustache-growing month of Movember shows up to prove you — yes you! — wrong.

Scott did Movember last year, and this is my first year. I’m a Movember virgin. And having had a full beard for the last year and a half (and a propensity to obey the fucking rules, Gregg Beever, you cheating bastard), I have to tell you it was very difficult to take a knife to my face on Nov 1 and remove all the hair that once resided there. We have two Hallow-winners!

Posted by Adam Rozenhart On October - 18 - 2010

Last week, we ran a contest. A contest with prizes.

Those prizes were movie passes to the new Ultra AVX setup at local Cineplex theatres. What’s Ultra AVX, you ask? Only the awesomest movie setup on the planet.

We had many great entries to our scary-movie-haiku contest. And it was a tough choice. Scott and I battled with giant jousting paddles (each representing one of our entrants) a la American Gladiators. Then, after some bloodied noses, we decided at sit down and actually read the haikus people submitted. Read the rest of this entry »

Movie haikus = win!

Posted by Adam Rozenhart On October - 14 - 2010

In case you haven’t heard, a new kind of movie technology has hit Edmonton’s silver screens. And they call it…

ULTRA AVX

Last week, I received an email from Shannon Hunter, an account coordinator with Cloud AdAgents, a group representing Cineplex. Seems the movie-house company implemented a new kind of movie-watching technology (which Allie’s posted about on her blog) and they want to get the word out using social media peeps like us. Beers and Zombies

Posted by Scott C. Bourgeois On September - 24 - 2010

It’s no secret that Adam and I are fans of zombies. Or, for that matter, that the circle we run in are fans of zombies. Zombies crop up in conversation with us almost as much as Star Trek does – and that’s saying something.

It even came up in our most recent episode, where we talked about an idea for a zombie survival app for your smartphone.

In fact, we’ve put a LOT of thought into zombie survival. What we’ll do when the zombies come, where we’d hide, how long we think we could hold out, what mistakes the idiots in the movie make. That sort of thing.

Now here’s the kicker: zombies are absurd.
